Roamflag

Frequently asked questions

Everything trip hosts usually ask before getting started.

How it works

What is Roamflag?
Roamflag is the Shopify for trip hosts: a branded, multi-trip website with bookings, deposits and installment payments built in. You run your group trips on your own site — we're the tooling underneath.
How do I get started?
Sign up, pick your site address, add your logo, colors and story, then create your first trip — photos, itinerary, what's included and pricing. Connect Stripe so you can get paid, and go live when you're ready. New sites stay hidden behind a “coming soon” page until you switch them on.
How do travelers book?
Travelers request a spot on your trip page — no payment up front. You review each request in your dashboard and approve it; the traveler then gets a link to pay their deposit (or the full price). Once the deposit is paid, the spot is confirmed. If a trip is full, travelers can join the waitlist.

Pricing & fees

What does Roamflag cost?
Roamflag is free to start. We take no cut of your bookings — 0% booking fees, ever. A paid plan with extra features is planned for the future; we'll tell you well before anything changes.
Are there any fees on a booking?
Only card processing. Accepting cards costs a small amount per transaction — usually about 2.9% + 30¢ — and that goes to the payment processor, Stripe, not to us. See how payments work for details.
Can travelers cover the processing fee?
Yes. You choose: absorb the fee yourself, or pass it to the traveler so they see one fee-inclusive price on your site and at checkout. It's a single setting you can change any time.

Payments & payouts

How do I get paid?
Through Stripe. During onboarding you set up a Stripe Express account — confirming your identity and adding your bank details. Traveler payments go to that connected account, and Stripe pays out to your bank on a rolling schedule, typically a few business days after each payment.
Can I offer deposits and payment plans?
Yes. Require a fixed or percentage deposit to reserve a spot, then split the balance into installments on a schedule you choose. Installments are charged automatically to the traveler's saved card, with reminders handled for you.
What about refunds and cancellations?
You're in control. You can cancel a booking and refund the traveler from your dashboard whenever your policy allows, and any future installments for that booking stop automatically. You can also publish your cancellation & refund policy on your trip pages so travelers know the terms before they book.

Your site

Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Every site starts on a free Roamflag subdomain, and you can connect a domain you own (like yourname.com or trips.yourname.com). We show you the DNS records to add at your registrar, check them for you, and set up SSL automatically.
How much can I customize?
Your logo, colors, font, hero image, about page, host profile, FAQ and contact details. Sites use a designed theme with structured content — you fill in the fields, it looks great on every screen. There's no drag-and-drop page builder.

Your travelers

What do travelers see after they book?
A traveler portal on your site, under your brand. Approved travelers log in to see their trips, booking status, payment schedule and history, pay their deposit, update the card on file, and fill in their trip details.
Do travelers need a Roamflag account?
No. Travelers only ever see your brand. Once they've booked, we email them an invite to set a password for your site's portal — there's no public sign-up and nothing that says Roamflag beyond a small “Powered by” in your site footer.
